The Book Group is a very friendly informal group meeting which usually meets in a welcoming local café. Books are suggested by members and the group as a whole choose those they are going to read next. They try to choose books which can be reserved in the library, are relatively cheap to buy second hand or downloaded to a Kindle.

In the past these have ranged from non-fiction, thrillers, a classic and a detective novel along with novels with an interesting theme. They have yet to tackle historical fiction or fantasy novels as well as autobiographies and some shorter classic books.

The leader says 'we take it in turns to offer our thoughts on the book and discussions can be lively at times but always takes place with respect for different viewpoints'.
